How to Achieve Uniform Coverage on Curved and Uneven Surfaces

Achieving consistent coating thickness on complex automotive surfaces is one of the most challenging tasks in refinishing. Curved panels, edges, and recessed areas require precise control of your air spray gun and advanced technique.

1. Maintain Proper Gun Distance

Keep a constant distance of:

  • 15–20 cm from surface

  • Adjust slightly for curves

Inconsistent distance leads to uneven film build.

2. Adjust Spray Angle Continuously

Flat spraying does not work on curved surfaces:

  • Rotate wrist with surface contour

  • Keep spray perpendicular to target

This is critical when using LVLP Spray Gun Strong-Power, Stable-Output, as airflow precision amplifies technique errors.

3. Use Controlled Overlapping

Apply 50–70% overlap:

  • Prevents striping

  • Ensures even coverage

4. Reduce Fluid Output on Edges

Edges accumulate excess paint easily:

  • Lower fluid flow slightly

  • Increase movement speed

5. Layering Technique

Apply multiple thin coats:

  • Flash time between coats

  • Avoid heavy wet coats

6. Pressure Optimization

Incorrect pressure causes:

  • Overspray (too high)

  • Poor atomization (too low)

A properly tuned LVLP Spray Gun Strong-Power, Stable-Output ensures stable fan distribution.

7. Final Check

Inspect under proper lighting:

  • Look for dry spots

  • Check gloss uniformity
