Inspect Before Disassembly

Disconnect the air supply and empty the cup. Wipe the gun body with a clean, solvent-compatible cloth, then inspect the air cap under bright light. Look for material bridging across the horn openings, a ring of clearcoat around the center hole, residue behind the retaining ring, and hardened coating near the fluid tip.
